SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Projects, the Engineering Project Manager: Corporate Team is responsible for taking charge of various corporate expansion projects, supporting the execution of different projects in collaboration with the plants, and participating in establishing best practices for the Leclerc group’s plants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take charge of all project management activities;
- Participate in the execution of major or multi-plant projects to meet established deadlines, budgets, and return on investment;
- Stay up to date with technological innovations and propose improvements to standards;
- Support the plants during the project preparation phases to facilitate start-up and achievement of results (implement means to measure achieved results);
- Work as a team with various departments to include best practices regarding quality, health and safety, and facility sanitation in projects;
- Ensure that work under their responsibility is carried out safely and act as a leader in health and safety matters by being present on site;
- Communicate project progress status to various collaborators and company management;
- Be a guardian of the project management process and propose improvements as needed;
- Support management in the development of new products and manufacturing processes.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or other equivalent training;
- Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (an asset);
- 5 years of project management experience, ideally in the food industry;
- Ability to communicate easily and effectively in English and French; this position requires communication with unilingual English-speaking clients and/or suppliers and regular collaboration with our plants in the United States and Ontario;
- Strong and rapid problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Rigorous and structured in work execution;
- Comfortable in an industrial environment, taking charge of supervising project stakeholders;
- Ability to collaborate with different plants in the group;
- Good oral and written communication skills with clients, management, and colleagues;
- Enjoy working and like challenges.
