POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the HR Manager, U.S. Operations, the HR Business Partner plays a strategic role in the effectiveness of the company. The individual’s primary focus is to act as an advisor and coach to the Plant Manager, the plant leadership team and their employees. In addition to ensuring delivery of all traditional human resources activities, the HR Business Partner will have the opportunity to contribute to the recommendation and implementation of HR programs which impact all US plants working closely with the rest HR team (United States and Canada).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance;
- Participates in the development of strategies and means to achieve the objectives of the plant in the field of human resources management;
- Acts as a coach with the plant leadership team with a view to developing their skills and those of their team;
- Supports leaders in implementing and executing succession plans at the plant level;
- Supports employee development by working with management on individual and/or group training needs;
- Coordinates and ensures a good execution of the performance evaluation process;
- Actively participates in the annual salary and bonus management process;
- Responsible for all talent planning, recruiting and attraction activities;
- Advises and supports the leadership team and employees with employee relations issues;
- Administers all employee’s compensation and benefits programs, at the plan level;
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws;
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures;
- Ensures proper tracking of plant HR KPI’s and recommends actions to improve;
- Works with the Occupational Health and Safety team to improve and maintain best practices in this area, and to support managers in their workplace health and safety monitoring activities;
- Coordinates incident investigation process and manages workers compensation claims.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or any specialty related to this role;
- 7-10 years of generalist experience in human resources, preferably in a high-speed and high-volume manufacturing sector and preferably in a lean manufacturing environment;
- Communicate effectively in English and Spanish;
- Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills, and ability to build relationships at all levels in the organization;
- Proven achievements in collaborative contexts and demonstrating leadership, coaching ability, tact and diplomacy;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving, prioritizing, strong ability to balance the sense of urgency and the need to take a step back for informed decision-making;
- Excellent judgment, sense of ethics and integrity, and being able to work in an environment where change is ever present;
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Preferred HR professional certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR).
